Know your way around a computer and aren't afraid to pick up a tool? You could be exactly who we're looking for. VINZ is one of New Zealand's leading vehicle inspection specialists, and we're looking for a Compliance/Vinning Assistant to join our Rolleston team for approximately six months, covering maternity leave. We'd love someone who can start immediately, get stuck in and quickly become part of the team.

This isn't your typical admin role. Yes, there is data entry and documentation, but you'll also be working around vehicles, helping with the vinning and compliance process and occasionally removing interior panels, guards, brakes and other components so the necessary checks can be completed. If you like variety, enjoy practical work and have a good eye for detail, keep reading.

What will you actually be doing?

You'll help keep vehicles moving through the compliance and vinning process accurately and efficiently. Your day could involve:

• Collecting and recording vehicle information
• Entering details onto check sheets and tablets
• Creating vehicle records in the NZTA Landata system
• Assigning Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs)
• Recording pass and fail results
• Affixing stamped VIN plates and WoFs once vehicles have passed
• Using basic tools to remove interior panels, guards, brakes or other components when required
• Making sure the right process is followed every time

It's detailed work, and accuracy matters. There are mandated processes to follow, so we're looking for someone who takes pride in getting things right rather than taking shortcuts.

What are we looking for?

You don't necessarily need to come from vehicle compliance, but you do need to be comfortable working in a practical, process-driven environment.

You'll ideally bring:

• Good computer and data-entry skills
• Confidence using basic hand tools
• A practical, hands-on approach
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to follow established processes accurately
• A clean driver's licence, ideally a full licence
• A willingness to learn
